While living in Baltimore Jim Hodges aka "Six String Stu" was assaulted and shortly afterwards was hospitalized for a coma which lasted a month and a half. Upon waking he discovered that he was totally blind. During recovery he was able to regain 25% of his central vision but remains legally blind to this day. For the rest of his life he will have a vision impairment and a seizure disorder. Much of the many and varied skills that  he used to make his living with were also lost with his cognitive abilities. Happily he has regained a good portion of them but due to the neurological impairment he cannot go back into the trades he once worked in. Being unable to drive he also no longer will be seen on his '64 Panhead. Many of his oldest friends miss him dearly at the rallys. Said one Rompin Roy from New Mexico "Bon fires just aint the same anymore"

When and where transportation is available Six String Stu can still be seen on stage. Usually in the company of his canine companion "Lee" a sheppard / Chow mix breed who is his most loyal friend and fan. Lee is a certified medical alert dog and carries a tag denoting this. A very special friend to have by your side!

Born in California,, raised in the Midwest and well traveled. Here's a man who has lived and learned. Bringing you songs from the past and one original. Scuffletown Blues was written and produced in his home studio.

Having been vision impaired  hasn't set this guy back in the least and only proves that anything is possible with the right motivation. His modest production brings out the sounds of his genre'. A mixture of Country, Rock, Folk and Blues. With a little spirituality thrown in for good measure. A true find and an enjoyable listen for all ages.
